PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
Planting instructions: Choose a sunny spot to plant your tulips. Dig a hole about 6 inches deep and place your bulb in the hole with the pointy tip up. Space bulbs at least 2-3" apart. Cover with soil and water well. Fertilizers are not necessary but you can use a little Bone Meal in each hole. The energy for the tulip to flower each year comes from the bulb. After blooming cut off the flower head and leave the green leaves to die back over the coming months. Tulips need their leaves to collect energy for the bulb to flower again next year. Be sure to provide water if you are in drought conditions, but typical winter / spring precipitation is enough.

Expect your tulips to strut their stuff in spring, though Mother Nature’s mood swings can nudge bloom times earlier or later. Typically, my tulips explode into color within a tight 3-week window, creating a dazzling display that’ll have your neighbors green with envy.
